Do you take risks?
No seriously, think of the last time you took a risk. Something new and scary?
Have you made the jump and took that new job? Started your business? Started a new lifestyle? Or talked to that cute guy? Hell, cut you hair?
If you can not say yes to any of these things, you might not be doing life correctly.
I know you’re thinking ” I have responsibilities, I can just play around with stuff all willy-nilly!”
To that I say Yes you can!
I use to wonder why my life looked so dull. I would go to work everyday, see the same people, do the same things, almost live the same day over and over again. I had interest and hobbies to try to spice it up a bit, but honestly I was bored!
I needed a change, so I took a risk. I changed jobs, and started to live a non-traditional lifestyle. I work “odd” hours and I couldn’t be happier. I have freedom! Everyday I wake up, I pick and choose what my day will look like. I am the master of my time, which is probably what we all really want!
Sound like fun? Try it!
I also take risk in my love life.
I personal prefer online dating, which can definitely have its sketching cautionary tales, but I find that it works better for me. I hate wasting time getting to know someone, only to find out that they are not going to be around. Online dating allows me the chance to chat with a guy, make sure he is on the up and up before I invest too much time with him. I have had some failures, but majority of the time, I really enjoy myself.
I have friends who are so against it! They think that everyone that I talk to has to be a jerk or a creep, or at least killed someone. LOL I swear they think I am out here on dates with masked murders. But I take a chance, I roll the dice and see what I get! Sometimes I do catch a jerk, but more times I find a nice gentleman who ends up falling in love with me.
Life is all about the risk you take. I want to be happy, in my career and my family life. To get there I am willing to risk it all for that big payout. It’s been working for me so far, I can honestly say in my 29 years that I have lived. I have had many successes and a few failures, but I am living!
So what about you? Are you playing it too safe or are you living?
